The cover is an example of a school magazine. The main picture is eye catching because it takes up a large amount of the picture. She is sitting in a comfortable position in what looks to be a common room or somewhere people would socialise. This connotes a sense of a relaxed and social community at the college.

The lighting used is diffused which could show that the college is a bright and happy place and everyone there has the same importance when it comes to their education. The props used in this photograph suggests it maybe an international college. This is also suggested by the fact that she is Asian, implying equality. The globe is also connected to the text which accompanies the picture which is titled ‘Global Learning’. Also, there are two plants in the photograph. This could connote that the college considers the environment. This could be a pull factor for someone who is looking to attend this college.

The picture denotes the woman smiling and wearing casual clothing. She is not sitting up straight but is slouching slightly, strengthening the idea that it is a welcoming and joyful college that is casual but still a respectful place to learn.
